Un curso muy interesante, vale la pena ya que pocas personas se certifican en este lenguaje que aunque es viejo hoy en dia es un auge en el sector bancario. Super recomendado

Overall i think this is the best option if you want a easy way to learn, with good quality information, about COBOL and Mainfram worlds. Don´t lose time searching youtube etc, etc. Grab this course and start learning COBOL. Some cons definitely the tests could be better sometimes i found myself losing points for "stupid" stuff and some questions had wrong responses, then the final test had the correct one.

The readings were very good. The content needs some updating I think. Although I did put in the effort to respond to the discussion prompts, it is good they were optional, since there wasn't any discussion. Likewise with the peer reviewed assignments. I have to say that they were very confusing as to exactly what we were supposed to do. It would have been a great idea to practice what I was learning, but I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to be evaluating and documenting the learning environment as is, or whether I was supposed to assume it hadn't been built yet. I probably chose the wrong approach. The assignments definitely need clarification, especially if they are eventually graded.

The four last courses, it's not so great, pretty weak to learn and nothing about practice.

a lot of information, a lot of theory but little practice in programming

This is another course that is extremely important to get right, but which functionally is very thin in terms of actual content. The idea of having peer-graded assignments is interesting, but the actual lectures and reading in the course don't really support that level of work - case and point, Agile Methodologies are condensed down to about two minutes of video, 48 seconds of which is introducing the reading. Overall I get the impression that this is content from a face-to-face workshop that was rapidly converted for Coursera.

some of the reading materials were not available. some were outdated. instead of teaching cobol the course spent more time talking about testing methodologies and other remotely related subjects. i dont feel i can code in cobol more than helloword level.

broken assignments and readings and lack of promised labs, this is an awful way to end a development cert. Its incredibly disappointing when IBM can put out good courses
