Angelique Louie

Dr. Angelique Louie, Professor

Bio

Angelique Y. Louie received the B.S. degree from the University of California, Davis, and the M.S. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, both in electrical engineering. She received the Ph.D. degree in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine. She held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena. She is currently a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of California, Davis. Her research focuses on the development of contrast agents for molecular imaging including PET/MRI agents to visualize atherosclerosis, light activatable MRI agents, polysaccharide-based PET agents, and fluorinated agents for 19F MR imaging. Dr. Louie is a fellow of BMES, a fellow of AIMBE, and member of Tau Beta Pi. She is a recipient of the 2024 UC Davis College of Engineering Outstanding Teaching Award, Ellen Weaver Award for Outstanding Mentoring (AWIS), Whitaker Biomedical Engineering Research Award, and Keck Foundation Research Award.
