Financial Accounting

Financial Accounting is a branch of accounting that deals with the preparation of financial statements for use by executives, shareholders, and the public. Coursera's Financial Accounting catalogue teaches you to understand, analyze, and interpret an organization's financial statements and reports. You'll learn about the frameworks and regulations such as GAAP and IFRS that guide financial accounting, the concepts of assets, liabilities, and equity, and how these elements combine to form an organization's balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. You will develop your decision-making skills related to business performance and financial management, and understand the role of financial information in businesses' strategic planning and forecasting.
